As the threat of covid retreated and pandemic restrictions were loosened, the band began to play again!

Remembrance Day 2023

So much milder this year despite the wind!

Clipping from Medicine Hat News.

Burns Dinner 2022

A much delayed but favourite event for the band was the 2022 Burns Dinner at the Medicine Hat Lodge. (photos: Joan Kennedy)

Diu Regnare

In honour of Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee on Thursday, 2 June, the band chose a dramatic setting on Strathcona Island with the cutbanks as a backdrop to play "Diu Regnare", a tune specially composed for the occasion by world champion piper Stuart Liddell. (photo: Kwan Lee)

Decoration Day

On Sunday, 5 June, both Medicine Hat and Redcliff Legions recognized the sacrifice of Canadian and allied troops in the wars of the past. At least it's not cold as the usual Remembrance Day ceremony. (no photos)

Redcliff Parade

Every 5 years, the Town of Redcliff puts on a parade and we were honoured to be included. (photo: South Alberta Pipes and Drums)

Bow Island Parade

When the Pipe Major's away, the lads (and lassies) will play! Jackets awa' guys! 16 July (photo: South Alberta Pipes & Drums)

Medicine Hat Stampede Parade

Back in the saddle again, well leading the parade with horses kept at a distance. Thursday, 28 July. (photos: Joan Kennedy)

Havre

"On the road again".... watch out Havre! (There was no "after" photo). (photo: South Alberta Pipes & Drums)

A little R&R to recharge the batteries before the assault begins!

Remembrance Day

It just about never fails that Remembrance Day is the beginning of winter... and so it was. The knees knock and the pipes gurgle.

About our band

A brief intro to our band, click here.

And going back in history: before the Havre Festival Parade 2011. Before our assault on the taverns....We're not quite sure why Jack is wearing the Lion's costume, maybe because bass drummers wear a leopard skin and snare drummers are jealous?
