Events:

The Unisphere Global Resource Centre contributes to a number of charitable events throughout the year. Some of these include:

International Day of Peace:

The United Nations General Assembly declared that the Day be observed as a day of global ceasefire and non-violence, an invitation to all nations and people to honour a cessation of hostilities during the Day.

World Food Day:

Progress has been slow in efforts to reach the World Food Summit goal of cutting by half the number of the world’s chronically hungry and under-nourished people by 2015. Many different groups must work together in a united effort. Let us all give priority to the “war against hunger”.

SEARCH :

The Southern Alberta Racial and Community Harmony Society offers “valuing diversity” presentations to young and old, with the help of hands-on artifacts from Unisphere and the SEARCH Resource Library.

Unisphere Food Booth Canada Day :

Canada Day is the day when Unisphere holds its fundraiser. Enjoy a number of food dishes while supporting the charity.

International Human Rights Day:

When the international community developed the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child in 1989, governments rushed to be seen as supporters of the idea that children have fundamental human rights, and need special care and protection in order to realize their potential.
