The Lions Club of Medicine Hat has many ongoing projects here is a list of some of them.
An Active supporter of the Lions Eye Bank of Alberta. Volunteer lions drive the tissue to Calgary when needed. As well as provide financial support for this project
Teaming with CNIB Local chapter the Lions put on a golf tournament open to all and raise funds that go to support Medicine Hat and district services to persons who are blind of vision impaired.
In August of 2009 the Lions Club of Medicine Hat saw
and need and responded to it by donating $50,000.00 to the Medicine Hat Food
Bank Society. The Food Bank has be a project of the Lions Club of Medicine Hat
since it's inception. Adding to it's structures in the 80's with the Root Cellar
for storage of fresh vegetables.
Lions Donate $1,100.00 to the
Public School Foundation Telethon
In March 2010 once again the Lions Club of
Medicine Hat has donated $1,100.00 to the Public School Foundation Telethon to
support this valuable program in our public school system. With these funds
students can access extra curricular programs not funded by the Province and the
system.
Lions Donate $20,000.00 to Alberta Medicair Society for support of the new Helicopters.
With the help of the Lions Club the City was able to receive $125,000 to upgrade and repair the Pond at Strathcona Island Park
In conjunction with the City of Medicine Hat the Lions club of Medicine Hat provided Playground equipment for this project and is an ongoing project.
