2002 GAAAS CITY OPEN
FENCING TOURNAMENT



DATE: September 28 & 29, 20002  
 LOCATION:   Eagle Butte High School  Dunmore, Alberta    

Sanctioned by the Canadian Fencing Federation though the Alberta Fencing Association and hosted by the AAA Fencing Club.  Competitors in the open events must be 2002 competitive members of the AFA/C.F.F. or if non Canadian, a current member of the appropriate national association.  Please note that the Under 17 events are qualifiers for the Alberta Squad for the Canada Winter Games.

The above times indicate close of registration.  Fencing will begin approximately one half hour after close of registration.  All start times are subject to adjustment depending on the number of entries.  Open events must have a minimum of 6 entries or more to run.  Under 17 events will run regardless of number of entries.
            
                                                    ENTRY FEES:    Open events     $25.00 first event, $10.00 for each additional event
                                                                                  Under 17 events    $20.00 per event

Fencers may enter more than one event on each day, however they will be required to withdraw from an event it their entry will impede the progress of the competition.

Entries will be accepted until 10:00 pm Wednesday, September 25th.  Entries received after that time will be assessed a $20.00 surcharge.  No entry will be accepted if received less than 30 minutes to start time.

RULES:  The latest FIE rules will apply except regarding Kevlar clothing and maraging blades
Each fencer's equipment and clothing must be satisfy the requirements of Article 27 of the Rules and Regulations of the FIE ( no sweat pants allowed ).

PASSPORTS: Canadian fencers must present a valid C.F.F. passport in order to compete in the open events.

How To get to the Venue:
Coming from the west heading east on the #1 Highway, continue past Medicine Hat to Dumore (about 8 km from the city).  Once in Dunmore, turn right at the Tempo Gas station (Eagle Butte Road).  The School can be seen up on the hill and the left side of the road.

Coming from the east heading west on the #1 Highway, you will see a grain elevator on the right.   As you enter Dunmore, turn left at the Tempo Gas station (Eagle Butte Road).  The School can be seen up on the hill and the left side of the road.
